CUSTOMS OPERATION & LITIGATION OFFICER

In this function, you will be responsible to ensure the Company is complied with Customs regulations, ensure all the import & export goods are handled properly and meet all the Customs regulations requirements, minimize costs and maximize the use of any customs facilities for company benefits.

Reporting directly to the Customs Manager, the incumbent will also be responsible to:

Liaise with the user/ project owner, forwarding company and Customs authority for such import & export
Identify and ensure an accurate HS code and calculate the import duty costs
Liaise with the user/ project owner for import plan activities
Identify the effectiveness of the import process, i.e by sea freight or air freight
Identify an accurate HS code and calculate the import duty costs
Review the working papers for audit purposes
Prepare / Review of customs payments reconciliation
To ensure all the export & import documents and all related documents are well documented
Prepare monthly export and import activities to be reported to Customs authority, BKPM and Ministry of Trade
Prepare monthly export and import activities for management review purposes
Identify area for improvement, develop improvement program and monitor the implementation to increase process efficiency, cost effectiveness, or increase productivity
Manage subordinates and develop capability through setting and reviewing subordinates’ performance target, regular coaching and ensuring implementation of Individual Development Plan (IDP)
Prepare, monitor, control the annual department budget to ensure expenditure is in line with the Business Plan
Take responsibility for providing and managing a work environment that is safe and without risk to health by ensuring OHS policy, plans, procedures, induction, training and work instructions are followed. Ensure that hazard management including identification, assessment and control are undertaken

To be successful for the above role, the ideal incumbent should have the following qualifications:

Holding a minimum of Bachelor degree (S1) in Economics or Business Administration area (preferably major in accounting)
Having a minimum of 3 years working experience in export-import area (international cross-border transaction) or forwarding company and at least two years experience in a senior financial role.

PT Bank Muamalat, one of the country’s major sharia banks, plans to offer Islamic bonds worth between US$50 million and $100 million to global investors this year.

The bank’s president director, Arviyan Arifin, said in Jakarta on Monday that the sukuk bonds would be offered to investors in the Middle East. He said that the bank would open a branch in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to support the plan. “We will issue the sukuk this year as soon as we open a branch office in Jeddah,” he said.

Muamalat finance director Hendiarto said the bank was still preparing the opening of the new Jeddah branch. “We are still trying to meet the requirements,” he added.

Hendiarto said Muamalat also planned to issue subordinated sukuk worth about Rp 800 billion ($93.6 million) to Rp 1.5 trillion to strengthen the company’s financing capacity. — JP

PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia Tbk booked IDR270 billion of gross profit throughout the year, rose 93.15% from the same period last year.

The growth of the earnings before tax was due to bigger margin income from its financing, said Director of Retail Banking Adrian A. Gunadi. Up to September, financing rose 45.24% to IDR20 trillion from IDR13.77 trillion.

Most of its financing was channeled to retailers by 65% or IDR13 trillion and the remaining was given to commercial and corporate clients. Consumer loan, particularly for property, dominated the portion followed by multifinance and cooperative.

"From the total IDR6.3 trillion consumer financing portfolio, IDR3 trillion was channeled to housing financing," Adrian said.

Bank Muamalat was established in 1991 by local and foreign investors. Islamic Development Bank owns 32.82% of the Islamic bank's share, Boubyan Bank Kuwait has 24.94%, Atwill Holdings Limited holds 17.95% and public trades the rest 5%.

Retail segment also motored the growing third party fund, which grew by IDR7.15 trillion to IDR21 trillion in total. The retail clients contributed IDR14 trillion of its third party fund.

"Saving and current account represented 50% of the total of retail’s third party fund. The rest 50% was in deposit,” Adrian detailed.

When our Torrance-based product planners and engineers heard about Toyota Motor Corporation's (TMC) plan to run a distance of 348 miles from Osaka, Japan, to Tokyo on a single tank of hydrogen, they thought it was a great idea ... that probably didn't go far enough in showing how far this new system had advanced," said Bob Carter, Toyota Division group vice president and general manager.

"Beyond the single-tank range capability, this new system was developed to deal with two major challenges to the refinement of fuel-cell powertrains. That is, starting and operating in cold temperatures and standing up to the vibration and harshness of rough road conditions ... over a long distance ... over a long time."

"Equally important was to show how the development of Toyota's hydrogen fuel-cell powertrains continue to move forward and mature at an impressive pace, far in advance of an infrastructure that will be necessary to support them."

To add a sense of risk and adventure, Toyota engineers planned to accomplish the feat with no practice runs and no pre-trip evaluations. Just get in the Highlander FCHV and drive. If they made it to Vancouver, great; if not, it would be chalked up to research and development.

Vehicle preparation consisted of adding tubular guards for the grille, rockers and rear end, a roof rack and a few appropriate graphics to mark the occasion. Every mile of the journey was monitored in real time by a dedicated laptop program that measured distance, time, speed, and hydrogen tank temperature and fuel consumption. The entire trip was shot in high-definition video. And to verify and chronicle the achievement, Road & Track magazine engineering editor Dennis Simanaitis was invited to come along as referee and co-driver. One of the key reasons why engineers chose the route from Fairbanks, Alaska, to Vancouver is that Canada allows mobile refueling of high-pressure hydrogen vehicles along its public highways. Without a network of hydrogen fueling stations every 300 miles, mobile refueling was a necessity.

Two companies were enlisted to assist with mobile refueling. Linde, a German company based in the U.S., provided the rolling supply of hydrogen, while Canadian-based Powertech Labs supplied a self-contained refueling station. Mounted on two separate flatbed trucks, the refueling team moved in advance of the Highlander FCHV, setting up shop at predetermined intervals. A RAV4 camera vehicle stalked the FCHV from start to finish, while a pair of Toyota Tundra pickup trucks followed as support should anything major go wrong. Nothing did.

The first leg of the drive was the most suspenseful. The caravan needed to travel more than 316 miles from Fairbanks to Beaver Creek across the Canadian border in order to legally refuel. Not only did the vehicle make it, the onboard monitoring system confirmed that the vehicle could have covered nearly 400 miles.

WIKA was born out of the nationalization process of a Dutch company bearing the name Naamloze Vennotschap Technische Handel Maatschappij en Bouwbedijf Vis en Co. or NV Vis en Co. Pursuant To Government Regulation No. 2 / 1960 and Minister of Public Works and Electric Power (PUTL) Decree No. 5 dated 11 March 1960, WIKA was established with the name of Perusahaan Negara Bangunan Widjaja Karja. WIKA's line of business at the time was electrical and water pipe installation works. In the early 1960s, WIKA took part in the construction project of Gelanggang Olah Raga Bung Karno on the occasion of the Games of the New Emerging Forces (GANEFO) and the 4th Asian Games in Jakarta.

With the passing of time, various improvements were made in order to continue growing as well as contribute to nation-building by providing construction services throughout the country.

The first significant growth occurred in 1972, when the name Perusahaan Negara Widjaja Karja was changed to PT Wijaya Karya. WIKA then developed into a construction contractor by handling various important projects such as the installation of electricity grids at Asahan and the Jatiluhur irrigation project.

A decade later, in 1982, WIKA underwent expansion with the establishment of several new divisions, namely the Construction Civil Division, Building Division, Housing Facilities Division, Concrete and Metal Products Division, Industrial Construction Division, Energy Division, and Commerce Division. The projects handled at the time included among others the LIPI Building, the Bukopin Building, and the Building and Irrigation Project. Moreover, with the progressive growth of its subsidiaries in the industrial sector WIKA was transformed into an integrated and synergetic infrastructure company.

The skills of WIKA personnel in the construction industry have pushed the Company to further explore the various areas in which it does business by establishing a number of subsidiaries in order that they can become independent as business ventures that specializes in creating their own respective products. In 1997, WIKA founded its first subsidiary company, namely PT Wijaya Karya Beton, a reflection of how fast the Concrete Division was growing in WIKA at the time.

PT Wijaya Karya Beton's activity at the time , among others, is the provision of rail tracks for the construction of the Manggarai double-track lane in Jakarta, the construction of the Grati Steam-powered Power Station (PLTGU) and also the Barelang Bridge in Batam. The PT Wijaya Karya Beton measure was then followed by the establishment of PT Wijaya Karya Realty in 2000 as a natural progression of the Realty Division. Subsequently in the same year PT Wijaya Karya Intrade was also established as the progression of the Industrial and Commercial Division.

As the Company developed more and more, so too did the public's confidence in the Company's capability. This was reflected in WIKA's success in launching its Initial Public Offering/IPO on 27 October 2007 at the Indonesia Stock Exchange (known at the time as the Jakarta Stock Exchange). During the IPO, WIKA released 28.46 percent of its shares to the public, so that the government of the Republic of Indonesia held 68.42 percent, while the rest was owned by the public, including WIKA employees, through the Employee/ Management of Stock of Option Program (E/MSOP), and Employee Stock Allocation (ESA).

Meanwhile, the measure of developing Divisions into selfsufficient subsidiary companies continued to be taken. In 2008 WIKA established subsidiary company PT Wijaya Karya Gedung that specializes in the development of high rise buildings. WIKA also acquired 70.08 percent shares of PT Catur Insan Pertiwi that specializes in the field of mechanical-electrical. Then PT Catur Insan Pertiwi was renamed into PT Wijaya Karya Insan Pertiwi. In 2009, together with PT Jasa Sarana and RMI, established PT Wijaya Karya Jabar Power specializes in the development of geothermal power station (PLTP) projects.

In the mid of 2009, WIKA together with other companies have succeded in completing the Suramadu Bridge, a prestigious project that connects Java and Madura islands. Currently the project have been enjoyed by the community at large.

Entering 2010, WIKA is faced with a changing business environment with greater challenges.
