Country Customs Manager
Based: Jakarta
Responsibilities :
This position is responsible for all aspects of customs compliance in Indonesia. It will also support regional and global customs in areas such as risk assessment, value preservation review and regional/global customs compliance improvement project. Responsibilities include ensuring working closely with businesses to address risks and leverage on customs and trade opportunities, developing and implementing control and compliance framework, coordinating audits and litigation for Indonesia, providing operational guidance, and training.
Requirements :
- University degree required — preferably in accounting, finance, law or indirect taxation
- At least six years of experience working on customs compliance matters, preferably with a Big 4 accounting firm, major law firm or multinational company.
- Prior working experience in Indonesian Customs in addition to working with a Big 4 accounting firm, major law firm or multinational company is a plus
- Strong technical knowledge of customs valuation, classification, origin and customs processes
- Expert in Indonesian customs legislation and other applicable import/export regulations
- Strong experience in establishing controls and managing compliance requirements for bonded zone process KITE concession and master list requirements.
- Fluency in verbal and written English language. Ability to communicate complex technical issues to Cargill business and functional managers.
- Ability to prepare and deliver effective briefings to senior executives
- Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work in large, decentralized interfunctional teams with minimal supervision.
- High ethical standards.
- Completed customs broker course and hold relevant customs certificate
- Frequent travel within Indonesia is expected
- Some travel to other countries in Asia.
